How do the other Askville Klutzes decorate their Christmas trees?

I am halfway through, and so far the casualty list:Sliced finger open on a glass bulb; stuck a sharp end of a hook in my finger; broke two ornaments, including a custom made "millennium" orb; fell off ladder while putting star on top. I am typing with two bandaids on my fingers, and I've already got a bruise showing up from my fall off the ladder (only on second rung, luckily! ) where I bumped a table on the way down trying to catch myself.

Are there people I can pay to do this? It might be less costly! Asked by Goodbye!

Give the job to hubby.... and criticize the way he did it. We have a fake tree (looks pretty much real, about 3 years old) that has all the lights attached. I tell him to put the small decorations on top, medium in the middle and large in the bottom.

He is directions defficient so he places them radomly and I just make little comments but making sure not to aggravate him because I do not want the job to do the tree. It has been always hubby with the kids. Now they are grown up and sometimes hubby will get daughter to come to help.

She will do it correctly. With limited mobility and being a real klutz I could see myself really getting hurt so I don't even attempt it. A friend hired a decorator to come and do her tree (fake, looks real very expensive) few years ago.

She bought beautiful ornaments at Fortunoff and Tiffany's. The decorator did an amazing job, with golden bows, and garland of pearls and wine color satin ribbons. The tree was placed on a dolly with wheels and after the holidays the whole darn thing goes to be stored in the coat closet that has been reserved for that only.

They made sure to seal the closet with added gaskets so the tree does not get dusty although they still covered it with a light king size sheet. I prefer hubby doing it...it's always a surprise how it will turn out.

The way any intelligent klutz does anything: Let someone else do it. My oldest daughter showed up the other day with the tree. She'll be back later and decorate it.

I'm staying out of this.

C'mon now, admit it - you're having fun doing it! .

Merry Christmas to all of my Askville friends!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
