How do Western Muslims feel living in countries that contrast so much with their religious beliefs?

Of course not. Muslim beliefs cannot affect your rights. 2) As the population of Muslims increases in my country, so do the allowances that are made for them and their beliefs Now: this is a different thing.

If the Muslim population in your nation increases to the point where they form a large enough voting bloc to alter your nation's constitution, then (because of the demographics of voters rather than simply because of beliefs) your rights might be in danger. In the U.S., amending the Constitution requires approval of 3/4 of the states - which is not exactly the same as 3/4 of the voting population, but roughly it can be said to be so. So: for the U.S. to adopt the religious view of any particular group requiring an amendment, at least 3/4 of the *voting* population would have to be members of that group, and they would *all* have to be in agreement.

As you might suspect, it would be very difficult for Muslims to initiate gender-biased amendments even if they had 3/4 of the vote. Why? Because a large portion of Muslim women - voters!

- would not support such amendments. 3) Some institutions have set up Muslim-only toilets for example, my gym has recently sacked a male aerobics instructor because Muslim women have started asking to attend the class and won't while there is a male instructor. A swimming pool recently banned women from wearing normal bathers on a particular day, in order to have Muslim women feel more comfortable there wearing their fuller-coverage bathers As you seem to realize, these are allowances for your fellow citizens, not a reduction of your own rights.

The more welcome that you make the Muslim citizens feel, the more likely they will be to adopt YOUR cultural views over a period of generations. Think of it as changing Muslims into people of your nation; their grandchildren will probably hold the same ideals that you do! 4) What's next?

Is my right, as a woman, to vote, in jeopardy? From what you have described: clearly not. 5) Will I some day soon be expected to cover up in public?

Again: clearly not.

Now now, you getting way ahead of yourself here. Don't get me wrong you make some good points. But you are being very selfish.

YOUR RIGHTS? They have rights to you know. Yes yes but its your country to start with right?

They are just in about comers, they should not have rights over me. Yea? That's what your narrow mind is thinking.

The Politicians have to be very careful regarding this, they cannot afford to single out a minority, it is there duty to try and please everybody. Is it a really big deal that just ONE PARTICULAR DAY in your swimming pool that your banned from showing off more skin that they do? Very narrow minded attitude.

I don't believe for a second some aerobics teacher got SACKED because of what you say, that is illegal. I think you made that one up.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
