How do you deal with chronic (>3 years) throat irritation/congestion?

I was having all kinds of tummy problems that turned out to be food allergies. I had no idea that food allergies could cause gastrointestinal problems and had gone to the allergist because of sinus trouble. I was allergy tested and it turned out I am allergic to all kinds of common foods.

I was getting heartburn, diarrhea, or constipation all caused by my food allergies. Once I figured out which foods affect me the most I can avoid them or eat only in moderation. It turned out my real problem food was rice (!? ) I used to eat rice pretty often and had never associated it with my upsets.

Rice also gives me a headache. I just thought it was normal to feel that way at random times and though I had a sensitive stomach. When my allergy test showed I was allergic to so many foods my allergist asked me all kinds of questions and he told me many of my tummy problems could be caused by my allergies.

I went on a elimination diet and my problems got better. Now I know what I can still eat and what I can't. Good luck and I hope you feel better!

Since there are many causes of throat clearing, silent reflux may sometimes go undiagnosed. If you experience any of the symptoms, especially throat clearing, see an ear, nose, throat (ENT) doctor. Making a diagnosis of LPR is not painful.

Usually, a flexible endoscope is inserted through the nose into the throat, which allows the ENT to see the lining of the throat. The stomach acid causes the irritated lining to become red and sometimes there is evidence of damage. The throat is much more sensitive to stomach acid than the esophagus, so even a small amount of acid may cause irritation and chronic throat clearing.

The most effective way to lessen symptoms and help treat LPR is a modifying the diet. Many foods cause reflux, including citrus, tomatoes, onions, fatty foods and caffeinated foods.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
