How Do You Make A 3D Snowflake?

A popular way to make snow flakes is folding a piece of paper, cutting out some shapes and then opening it up to find a unique design; these snowflakes are nice to cover classroom windows or children's rooms. But another design for a snowflake is a six pointed snowflake that can hang from a ceiling and made unique with glitter, colored paper or designs. Take six pieces of construction paper and cut into 6 squares.

If using typical 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper, simply take a corner and place it to opposite side so it is in a triangle. You will have about two inches left on top so cut this portion off. Start with one square and fold in half.

Hold base of triangle. Starting at the outside cut three smaller triangles. Do NOT cut all the way through the paper.

The tips of each triangle should still be connected. Open paper up so fold is horizontal. To add a little flare to the snowflake, add glitter to the second triangle cuts and outside triangles.

Take the inner most cuts and tape the points ... more.

Here is a different way to make snowflakes to decorate your home for the holidays. This is more difficult to make than your standard 2D snowflake. These look great hanging in the windows or on the tree.

Fold a 8.5 x 11 in piece of paper in half "hot dog" style (the long way). Make a nice crease and then tear or cut along the crease. I find that I can get a straighter cut by wetting the crease slightly and tearing than I can by using the scissors.

Now, you have two separate long pieces of paper. You can make two snowflakes. Take one of the strips of paper and start folding it accordion style.

Start on the narrow end of the strip and fold about a 3/4 inch wide strip. Turn it over and fold it in the opposite direction, the same width. Keep going until you come to the end of the paper.

Its ok if your last fold is narrower or does not come out even with the other folds. Now fold your accordion paper in half and cut a a notch on either side of the fold. Tie your ribbon or thread around ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
