All of us have many extra socks that are missing partners. Instead of throwing them out, save them. Once you've amassed enough to make a sock hand puppet family, gather all those loose socks and spend the day with your kids turning the socks into fun hand puppets.
You can use art supplies you have around the house, or get special stuff to help make your puppets unique. Either way, you'll still end up with socks without partners, but at least now they'll belong to each other in a beautiful new family. Have each kid pick the sock they want to use.
It's fun if you all decide to make a member of the family, or if they decide they want to make themselves in a puppet form. Break out the art supplies. Old fabric, markers, glue, pipecleaners, yarn, felt, cotton balls, buttons, snaps - pretty much anything can gussy up a sock puppet.
On the foot of the sock, let the kids design the face of their puppet. They may want to try the sock on their hand to figure out where their thumb comes up to be ... more.
If the mysterious "Sock Eater" has left you a pile of single socks, then let everyone make puppets one day. Puppets are a good way for children to talk about their world to adults without feeling pressure or embarrassment. Save a single clean sock.
The sock needs to be large enough to fit loosely over a child's hand. Gather craft supplies such as construction paper, permanent marker, wiggly eyes, felt, yarn, pipe cleaners, craft glue, cotton balls or batting. Place hand in sock with thumb and fingers working like a mouth.
Mark lightly with a marker - areas for mouth, eyes, nose, and ears. Cut ears and mouth from felt and glue in marked areas with fabric glue or craft glue. Glue wiggly eyes in place.
However, make eyes with a black permanent marker if puppet is going to be using by small children. Use yarn cut into small strings and glued to sock for hair or horse's mane. Make antlers, horns, or antennas from pipe cleaners.
Use an adult-sized clean sock. Gather craft supplies: ... more.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
