I would love to have a chocolate chip cookie recepie that gives me nice and soft cokies instead of hard and crispy cookies. I've tried a couple of recepies but I always end with crispy cookies. Can you help me to make the perfect soft baked chocolate chip cookies?

Less is best when I want my cookies to be chewy and soft rather than crunchy, I make sure the dough is stiff enough it doesn't just melt and spread all over the pan, then I cook until just lightly golden colored (theyll still seem gooey in the middle until they set up for a minute on the pan outside the oven) I usually use 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed 1 tsp. Vanilla 2 eggs 2-1/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour 1 tsp. Baking soda 1/2 tsp.
Salt 1 pkg. (12 oz. ) Hershey's semisweet chocolate chips Mix it well .
I have a tip my Mom passed on to me... When you are baking the cookies and they have a little bit of a golden brown color, take them out of the oven and let them finish baking on the cookie sheet. It took me a couple of tries to get it right, but you will figure it out and make the best cookies ever! =) Hope this helps!.
I alway make the recipe exactly like the Toll House recipe says, always use butter. I have been putting parchment paper on the bottom of the cookie sheets if they are not new sheets. I think the secret might be instead of turning the over to 375o, keep it at 350o.
Then don’t cook the cookies for the whole 10-11 minutes like they say. As soon as they are light brown and solid, take them out to cool. Put in a tupperware container.
I’ve had luck with them staying soft. I do believe you have to watch them and take those cookies earlier than recipe directs. Try one trayful this way to experiment.

By using the best chocolate chip cookie recipe, of course! Double Chocolate Chip Cookies WET DRY ½ cup shortening 1¾ cup flour 1 cup brown sugar ½ teaspoon salt 1 egg ½ teaspoon baking powder ½ cup sour cream ½ teaspoon baking soda 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 tablespoon instant coffee 1) Combine wet ingredients with 1½ cup of melted chocolate chips (half the total chips) 2) Combine dry ingredients. 3) Put dry ingredients into wet ingredients and blend well.An electric beater becomes useful here.
4) When all is well-blended, add the rest of the chips (the other 1½ cups) and stir by hand (so the chips are not chopped into smaller pieces). 5) Refrigerate dough for at least an hour, preferably overnight.6) Dough will be very stiff. I keep a putty knife in the kitchen for such occasions.
Slicing usable pieces from the dough, hand roll walnut-sized balls.7) Bake @ 350?F. For 10-12 minutes. Cookies will be very gooey.DO NOT OVERBAKE!
8) Carefully remove cookies from pan with pancake turner (the requires a steady and sure wrist). Leaving cookies on the pan for a minute or two might help..
