A MultiMediaCard (MMC) is a type of flash memory card. MMC cards took the place of ComactFlash memory cards, which were larger in physical size but unable to hold as much computer data. MMC cards have since been replaced by Secure Digital flash cards (SD).

However, due to the still relative widespread use of MMC cards, knowing how to reformat corrupt MMC cards (and thus free up memory) is an important issue.
