Insulate any surfaces that are prone to condensation. These include cold water pipes, air conditioning ducts and water heaters. Pre-formed foam pipe insulation is great for both hot and cold water pipes.
Use a vinyl faced insulation for everything else. The vinyl is important to protect the insulation from absorbing the condensation. Use duct tape to seal the seams of the insulation.
Place a dehumidifier in the room. Your humidifier should have the option of a drainage hose, allowing the unit to drain into a floor drain and prevent it from shutting off when the reservoir gets full. It should run continuously during extreme humidity conditions.
Check the walls, floors and where the two meet for cracks and holes ... more.
