How does the gassing module of the BIOSTAT® CultiBag STR 200 work?

The gassing module offers the possibility to add air, N2, O2 and CO2 to the culture. Both sparger and overlay aeration are standard. The Overlay line brings Air to the headspace of the single-use CultiBag STR.

The sparger line brings air, N2, O2 and CO2 to the sparger. Via a standard integrated soft button the O2 output can be switched between sparger and overlay depending on the application. 5 rotameters are standard and mass flow controllers are available as an option for Air sparger and O2.

The gassing module offers total gassing flexibility. While air, N2, O2 and CO2 can be brought to the culture it is the flexibility of how to add the gasses which makes this system so advanced. Both sparger and overlay aeration are standard.

6 gassing lines are available. The Overlay line brings Air and CO2 to the headspace of the single-use CultiBag STR. The sparger line brings standard air, N2, O2 and CO2 to the sparger.

Via this complete flexibility is offered as all gasses can go to whatever output. 6 rotameters are standard and up to 6 mass flow controllers are available as an option.
