How is the new "A Nightmare on Elm Street"? Is it as good as the original?

I work at my local movie theater and tickets for it have been selling very well. Even though there was a Tornado Watch with awful weather Friday night, we sold out 4 showings of it and had to start turning away a lot of people. Most even bought advanced tickets for Saturday.

Many came back and saw it multiple times in one night. All of our managers and staff that have seen it loved it.

According to the critics, it stinks. Only a few rate it positively, and it isn't just bloggers or small newspapers either. The positive reviews include Richard Roper, Time Magazine and Hollywood.com.

Compare that to the original Nightmare, which has positive reviews in the majority. I will probably never watch it. I looked at the trailer, and it did not feel right.

Freddy looks more like an alien than a burned human, and Jackie Earl Halie's voice as Freddy sounds weird, not scary at all.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
