How much money do I need to survive for a month in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada?

Its actually really boring to be honest, lol. I have family who lives there and they say they have nothing to ever do. I've been many times, and yeah its super boring.

Its not like Toronto or Montreal.

My daughter is 14, in grade 9 in Ottawa. There are TONS of things to do in Ottawa! There are little community centres all over the city (one in the Glebe as well) that offer courses and clubs for young people.

Dance, drama, sports, and, and... This is, of course, in addition to all the things like that that you would find in schools. There are all sorts of other things as well, ethnic groups, cadets, art groups, music, bands, ..... Any kid that says they are bored in Ottawa needs a kick in the behind! There is so much to do.

Living in Alta Vista, which is a pretty decent area for the most part, but the nearest public High School is Ridgemont (where my daughter goes). It is not considered a particularly good school. Lots of kids with social problems go there, and it is a bit "rough."

I'm not sure what school kids in the Glebe would go to. However, all schools in Ottawa are pretty good. A recent study of schools in Canada came out showing that all are good compared to the world, Ontario in particular, and the difference between the best and worst schools is about the lowest in the world.

Lots of kids hang out in malls, of course. The St. Laurent Shopping Centre has the Rainbow Cinema. This is a place that shows movies after they hit the other theatres, but a bit before they come out on DVD.

Movies are CHEAP there - like $4.25 at the most ($2 on Tuesdays). So even if the movie ends up being no good, you haven't lost much. It is a nice theatre as well, and not a bad place to hang out.

So, this is the answer from an old guy, but, from my experience, there was more for kids to do in Ottawa than adults even, and I was busy 2-3 nights a week, and 1-2 weekends a month when I lived there easily, and I could have done more if I had wanted to.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
