How often and how severe are the dust storms on Mars?

On Mars, dust storms happen all year round, during every season. These storms are an average of 300,000 square miles big. These storms are made up of microscopic particals and can go between 30 to 70 miles per hour.

These storms usually last about 3 to 4 days, until falling to the ground. The most fierce dust storms usually cover the whole planet at once. These great dust storms usually happen around summer season on Mars, when the sun is closest to the planet.

I find this info while reading about the formation of dunes. The atmosphere of Mars is 100 thinner than that on Earth. Saltation (the sand movements that form dunes) occurs if the friction of the wind with the sand particles is big enough. In a thinner atmosphere, that is even harder.

However, on Mars the winds are stronger and winds 10 times more than those on Earth occur. Due to different conditions, the dunes may have different shapes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
