How to dim the current activity?

Try setting the background of your gallery Activity to a transparent color. You might need to create a custom theme and more details can be found here: developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/th... This is probably going to be completely transparent, so not quite what you want. But, for example: activity android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Translucent.

This is kind off what I wanted. Can it be blurred? Thats what I need instead of completely transparent – SRI Aug 20 at 15:45 You can try Theme.Dialog.

Otherwise, you might need to create your own custom theme. – elevine Aug 20 at 15:52 Awesome...cool..this is what I wanted..Thanx Mr.Elevine. :) – SRI Aug 20 at 15:57.

I doubt if you could overlay two activities on top of each other. However, in order to achieve the effect that you mentioned, you could use a customized dialog to popup within your main gallery activity, and then set the rest of the screen as blurred, with the use of window manager. For an example of this, you can see: stealthcopter.com/blog/2010/01/android-b....

The current activity is dimed (without quotes):. Dim the current activity.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
