Hunting rifle scoped with iron sights?

I have found that bore sighting is sometimes a joke. The last rifle I bore sighted and shot was a foot off at 50 yards. But to give the devil his due, at least it saved a few shots to start with.

But Your scope may not be able to adjust enough for the elevation to be right. You can only know when you shoot it. You may want to try this method of zeroing in your scope.

This is the best I have ever found and can be done with the absolute minimum of shots. I put a gun vise on a bench. I then shoot a very large target aiming at a dime size spot on it.

I shoot one time. I then see where the hole is and put my cross hairs back on the dime size target. I then walk the cross hairs over to the hole in the target, being careful not to move the gun.

The gun is now zeroed in, just shoot it once more to be certain. That's it. No box of ammo shot, no sore shoulder to contend with.

This makes things so much more simpler when it is time to zero in a scope. But if you find that your scope will not adjust enough to zero, you need another scope or a different set of mounts, I would go with both it that is the case. I have found the Browning semi autos to be fine shooting guns The trouble has to be in your scope or mounts.

Good l luck!

I personally do not use the scope collimator's, for the simple fact that it just puts you on the paper and does not actually sight it dead on,and it will also mess up the rifling at the muzzle and once you mess up the rifling you have but one choice rebarreling, the only way to truly sight in a rifle is to fire it with the loads that you will be using, and do not deviate from it once you get it sighted in, my choice of scope's is also the Bushnell 4X12X40 with the adjustable objective, you can pick one up at Wal-Mart for around $85.00 dollars, have one on all of my firearms and they work just fine, you could go to Bushnell's website and see if they have an exchange program or a repair department, they should either fix it or exchange it. Good luck.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
