I am looking for a book about an alien girl who is jet black with gold stripes down her arms and legs. Any help? It is about a war with some kind of demon (spiders?) she was being kept by the government.

Her father is in a Monastery as some kind of god ( in the inner part). The aliens have the ability to change into whatever the people around them want them to be.So her father is a god of some kind and she is a weapon. It was a series of stories and I think it is a story from a game.
