These hold up well I work at a preschool for kids with special needs. We have lots of books that are "abused" and they still hold up well. Regular board books are good, as well as plastic covered or "bath" books (which can be submerged.

Cloth books are also durable and sometimes can be washed. Take a look at the amazon kindle. Kindle is a bit pricey but I have never had an item soo handy, destructive proof and versitile. Great for anyone who reads alot or to contain text books for learning at any age.My favorite device for the encouragement and enjoyment of reading.
