I am think of moving to Sydney, Australia and want to Ask how does it compare to other Australia cities?

We don't have the terms of freshmen, sophomore, junior and whatever else you have. We used year levels (year 7, 8, 9, 10..) here the year you're in depends on how old you are. We have kindagarten which is optional, primary school is prep to grade six and highschool which is yr.7 to 12.

We don't have ap classes, the teacher might give someone extra or harder work but we're usually all the same. At lunch and recess the whole school goes out together, we don't have a cafeteriawe have a canteen. You can buy a lunch or snack there but most people just bring things like sandwiches from home.

Not just our private schools have uniforms, public do aswell. We don't really have cliques like jocks, geeks, nerds, goths, preps etc. You're either friends with them, mates with them or not. We have different sports that schools play.

The most common ones played here are Aussie rules football, rugby, soccer, cricket, netball, softball, tennis, volleyball. Typically if you want to do sports you find a club outside of school. Our sense of humour is different to yours, for instance here good mates will constantly bag on each other.

Be yourself, don't lie, don't talk about how much better you think america is. We have formals not prom. It's still a dance type thing for graduates, I'm not too sure what happens but they're not looked at as important as they are looked at in america. Graduation is important, after yr.12 graduation theres schoolies, you'll learn about that in yr.12 Our school year begins at either the last week of january or the first week of febuary dependin on the school until about a week before christmas.

Our summer holidays are six to seven weeks, with three breaks of two weeks throughout the year to break up the terms. We learn from textbooks. Our teachers have to teach atleast two subjects so you might have the same teachers for different subjects.

The school leaving age is now 17. Once you're in year 10 you start choosing subjects, before that it's mainly electives that you choose. We learn different languages at school, most often they are from asian countries, with some european (most commonly french and german) spanish won't help you here.

I can't tell you much about going back for american colleges, you should talk to your school about that. If once you graduate you change your mind Australian Universities are top notch and look purely at academic achievement. We drive on the left and you can't drive without a parent until you're 18.

Not just anybody can buy a gun here. Emergency services are 000.

Some difference you might find in australia is that it isnt the same that it depicts in movies. There arent any kangaroos in our backyard and we don't ride them around like cars lol. You have to wear uniform in schools.

Proms arent really that popular here, we do have graduation parties but they btw. Also you have to know some slang. Arvo = Afternoon Fair Dinkum = To be honest, genuine, telling the truth.

G'Day = Good Day.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
