I find it, sometimes, unsure whether to donate to charities, as some of them are done by?

My advice would be to research charities before you give. There are many charities out there giving the majority of the money to the people/situation they are working for - you just have to do some digging to find out which charities those are.

Legally a charity must not use more that a percentage for administrative expenses. I don't know, but it is something like 15-20%. The rest is supposed to pass on to the work.

As we should all be aware, charities are being exposed using the money for everything from trips to the Bahamas to sex with prostitutes, and even political activism, which is supposed to be illegal. Your best bet is to locate a small neighborhood charity that you can check out easily. These don't get enough revenue to waste.

If you donate to a church, it should be the one you attend, or one you respect and know has good morals.

I believe each state has their own rules regarding how much and be spent on administrative & maintenance etc and how much must be given away... need to do research. Our company supports a great environmental organization.

I ran into this problem awhile back. I was blessed with a side job doing marketing and was making a couple thousand a job. I wanted to donate some of the money to a charity but had always heard that so many of them keep a huge portion and very little reaches the people in need.

I approached my Mom about this and she advised me to look into a church program that was doing things over seas. I found a program that was going on in Thailand where missionaries were helping children that had been sold into slavery. The missionaries would get these children back, free them with the funds donated and put them into a safe house and teach them and teach them how to work and become good citizens.

Money donated for this was 100% for the kids and the missionaries were funded by the church offerings. It's so sad that people in these third world countries are so poor they sell their children to be able to survive.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
