If so, it could be that the lower element is burned out. The top element heats the upper portion of the tank, and then thinks it is turning over the task to the bottom element to finish heating the water. If the lower element isn't working that can leave you with half a tank of hot water - enough for a reasonable shower, but not enough to fill a bathtub.

Thank you! We actually have a tankless system. This seems to be the only place in the house that has this problem. It seems to be worse in the colder months.

Sounds like the tub flows more water than the tankless can keep up with. You may need to fill the tub slower. Tankless water heaters are still limited in how fast they can produce hot water, so if you have a high volume application, like filling a bathtub, you may get cooler water, or restricted flow, which will allow a greater proportion of cold water.

Tankless Water Heaters will generate a temperature rise based on the flow rate demanded. But all units are not created equal and rise in temperature corresponding to different gpm flows. Your unit may not being able to sustain the higher hot water flow over the longer period of time that it takes to fill a tub...you may have to fill the tub a tad slower.Com.

Could be a larger tub thatn the tank can fill with hot water.

Since this is a tankless system you are just flowing more water in the tub than the system can heat. To solve your problem just don't turn the valve open as far, reduce your flow in other words. This will allow your heater to keep up with the demand.

Either that or put in a larger system. As a side not most showerheads flow a LOT less than what your bathtub spout can flow, thats why you don't have this problem with the shower. A permanent fix would be to have a plumber place a reducer bushing in the hot water flow line to the tub that would restrict that amount of water flowing to your tub, .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
