The reason I ask that is there is nothing a tub/shower valve should be able to do to affect your hot water supply. However, there is a specific way that an electric water can develop problems that will reduce your hot water supply, and there are ways to adjust a properly functioning water heater to increase/decrease its ability to sustain a hot shower. In an electric water heater, there are two heating elements: if the heater is filled with cold water, it first activates the upper element, to make hot water available as quickly as possible. Once the upper portion of the tank has reached the selected temperature, the top element is deactivated, and the bottom element is activated.

This will heat the remaining water in the tank, and subsequent cycles will maintain the selected temperature.(natural convection currents will maintain the entire tank at essentially the same temperature) if the bottom element or thermostat fails, the water in the lower portion of the tank will not be heated, except by a very slow process of conduction, so the available hot water will effectively be cut in half. Also, if the thermostat is set too low, it will take such a high volume of hot water to get a hot shower, that the water heater will run out rapidly. I recommend you have your water heater checked to make sure it is working correctly, and if it is, make sure your thermostat is not set to a not-hot-enough position.

You should be able to get enough hot water to fill a normal sized bath. Short of leaking hot water out on the ground, there is not much that a faucet would be able to do to affect that.

I get pretty consistent hot water out of the shower head, but the tub starts hot and gets cold. What could it be?

I can't turn off my hot water faucet in my tub.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
