I have a kid that has very large bowel movements that just won't flush. Is there a bigger toilet or what can be done? The boy is autistic and has issues with digestion and limited food choices.

We have tried enzymes and other supplements but still the issue remains. He is ver embarrassed that the movements just won't flush and often needs assistance. Is there a toliet big enough for the job?

It is an issue of fat malabsorption Hi I think the root cause of the problem is the absence of fat absorption in the intestine, thus leading to steattorhea (fatty stools) which are very bulky and tend to float in the water, and hence difficult to flush away. Please have him evaluated by a doctor (preferably a GI doctor) so that appropriate enzyme supplements can be given. In the absence of futher tests, I will not venture into the kind of supplementation to be given, but a lot of people respond to pancreatic enzyme supplementation (if that is found to be deficient of further testing).

One cause of not responding to this medication is inadequate dose. Hope this helps.

I can say without doubt your son is not the only one with this problem of the healthy one! Where I come from we call such a movement the " healthy one"! What I do is after this starts is flush this keeps it from piling up, it’s normal during my healthy ones to flush two or three times and just in case a plunger standing by!

Teach him to flush after each drop or plop this should solve your problem! I hope you get my drift, trying to explain with decency is hard! Sources: Personal Experience .

You're running up against the fairly new (last 30 years or so) regulations that limit toilet tank size. The "Low-flow" regs are supposed to prevent wasting water, but I personally have a toilet that takes 2 flushes to get rid of toilet paper and pee unless it sits for a while, and it irritates the ever-lovin' DAYLIGHTS out of me! No one here has digestion issues and it usually takes 2 flushes, at least, and the flow isn't strong enough to really scrub the bowl.

So keep telling him it isn't just him, it's the toilet design, and have him double or triple flush if he needs to. Keep the plunger handy, too. Older homes still sometimes have the big-tanked older toilets that can actually FLUSH what's deposited in them.

Any new toilet you find will be a "low-flow" and it'll have the same trouble. SOme of them claim to increase the flow of the water pressure, but a big part of the problem is simply the pressure generated by too little water to begin with. In short, you might be able to find a high-end fixture that would help--but the problem is inherent in the regulations that control fixture manufacture and sale, now.

I'm serious--people are REALLY irritated by this, and they try to smuggle toilets that are bigger than the US-allowed size in from Canada. And if you're caught, it's something like a $500 fine! Sources: Perswonal experience, and my background writing about water/wastewater treatment.

NancyE's Recommendations Against the Flow.(low-flow toilets)(Brief Article): An article from: Builder Amazon List Price: $5.95 Residential waste flow reduction with low-flush toilet fixtures Yeah. It saves SO much water when I have to flush twice to get rid of the toilet paper and pee. Right.

Power flush toilets modern water saving toilets just don't have that oomph like they used to, thats why toilets get smuggled in from canada. But you can get a toilet that has more power, like kohler class 5, or commercial toilets. Check your local plumbing supply or building center.

A gastro doctor would be able to tell you what diet change could make a difference. A stool softener? The size of the toilet is less important then the water flush force, I would think.

Do you have enough water in the tank? It was a time where the toilet manufacturers, in order to conserve water, made smaller tanks. People ended up having to flush couple times wasting water because of it.

Maybe sprinkling some Ajax or Comet (or any very cheap cleaning solution) in the water before the BM, modiying the acidity of the toilet bowl water would drain better. Sources: opinion .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
