Whirlpool Quiet Partner Having weighed up the pros and cons of the latest washing machines on offer I decided that as a current Whirlpool customer that the AWM8163 front loading washing machine was the best I could buy for my money. It is currently their top of the range model and I managed to secure mine for £310.00, through their Product Exchange programme by buying it direct from Whirlpool. This is about £90 cheaper than you can buy in the shops (if you can find it as many are saying it is discontinued).

If it is of average quality but the price is comparable to that of a lower priced range, then already this makes it very good value....and I love a bargain. Considering my last Whirlpool washer lasted 7 years (and was still working) then it can't be bad.

You can also pause the wash if you want to go off to do something else.At the end of the cycle you can open the door immediately. I'm pretty impatient and always found waiting for the door timer to allow me access to the washing a bit irritating.6) It counts down the time left till the end of the wash on the digital display and beeps loudly three times at the end to let you know it's finished.

You can also set it to come on at night as it has a timer.7) The comprehensive program control panel is easy to operate and allows you to choose the temperature from 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or 95 degrees C. Also you can choose the spin speed from 0, 400, 1000, 1200 or 1600. You just turn the dial round to the wash programme you require.

Here there is a choice of Cotton, Synthetics, Daily Load, Rapid Plus, Delicates, Wool and Hand Wash. Then select the temperature and spin speed by pressing buttons either side of the dial up or down then press start and off it goes. Additonal choices are:-Easy Iron Option, which increases the mount of water used and spins more gently to help prevent creases.
