I haven't driven a car since passing my test 17 years ago. Now I really need to drive but I'm nervous! How should I go about it?

First of all, from my experience, you have to face the music. You will build up your confidence just by driving. I sugggest you stay on less traveled roads before hitting the highways.

But once you persist, you will be fine. Have confidence in yourself. I bet you passed on the first try...........not like me who took three times!

Good luck!

Take some refresher lessons from your local driving school, you'll feel better about it in no time.

Look at it this way, you did it once you can do it again. Thinking positive towards obstacles and tasks such as yours will give you the motivation and confidence you will need to go for it. Also close your eyes and look into the future and just kind of day dream how it would feel once you got over the fear of driving again.

You would probably feel amazing and almost like you can do anything. You would probably also feel like the day that you had just passed your test. Being nervous is a normal reaction to such situations.

But believe in yourself just like others believe in you and be strong!

Take driving lessons once again. This will help you improve your driving and also make you more confident.

Don't be nervous. By the way, what things make you nervous? You have to figure out that.

Cars is a tool, just larger, high technology, you have to used to drive you won't be nervous at all, Believe yourself, just hold the steering wheel with the right method, you will control your car good, all the control power is on you.. I hope you can drive very soon.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
