I need help sweating copper pipe for water lines in my house, any hints as to how to better sweat fittings?

Just make sure you have the right solder and get the pipe hot enough to suck it in. I find it easy to do. Osb&fp=c2870d027ef0197&biw=1310&bih=555.

Get the surfaces scrupulously clean with a wire brush, both outside the pipe and inside each fitting. Make sure there is no water inside the pipes and no slow dripping either. Put on plenty of paste flux.

The pipe and fitting must be straight and loose, not hard to slip on due to some off-center angle. Heat up the pipe and fittings. Move the flame away and touch the solder to the joint.

Add plenty of solder. Don't move the joint until it's cool.

If you cannot do it they sell a product called shark bites at yuor local home improvement stores you just push them on they have all the fitting styles .

Make sure they are clean; use the proper flux and solder, and be careful not to contaminate the connection when soldering.

I learned that too hot is a problem, burns out the flux. ALL IS WELL IN THE SWEATING WORLD NOW, WORKS LIKE A BABY CRIES! Get the surfaces scrupulously clean with a wire brush, both outside the pipe and inside each fitting.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
