I read a historical romance years ago and can't remember the name of the book. I need help finding this book?

I read a historical romance years ago and can't remember the name of the book. I need help finding this book. I think the heroine's name was Rowan or Rowena, there's a bit of a magical element, and a rowan tree in the mix.At the end of the book, the hero was supposed to marry another girl and his brother or best friend takes his place so the hero can marry the heroine.

I remember that the other girl had dark hair, was very, very sad, didn't talk but played the harp( or some other large string instrument), her name was arienne or something, definitely began with an a. I want to say this was set before the 1300's but not sure. I read this book late 90's or very early 2000's.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
