I spilled water on my laptop and now my "m" key doesn't work. Is there a way to macro another key to replace it? Right now I am pasting it with ctrl+v.

I am going to buy a new keyboard but until it gets here I want to be able to click the colon/semicolon key and have it type "m". Is this possible? Asked by Zelemont 46 months ago Similar questions: spilled water laptop key doesn't work macro replace Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

If it's a Windows system, there's a program you can use See link for details, it's called SharpKeys. It changes values in the registry so you don't have to. Macs I don't know, but you can look up "keyboard keys remapping instructions", maybe someone has some more info.

Good luck! Sources: randyrants.com/2006/07/sharpkeys_211.html .

There is a program.... Normally when I have temporary keyboard issues the quicker very short-term option is to use the Windows Accessibility options: Start Menu --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Accessibility --> On Screen Keyboard However, in your case I could see where that might be a challenge. There is a program meant as a joke for mapping one key to another. The program is available here: rjlsoftware.com/software/entertainment/r... It's designed to allow a single key to replace another for an established period of seconds and then return to normal function (hence the joke or annoy factor), however the instruction below not that if you specify a period of "0" the mapping remains.

Command line options for ReplaceKeys: replacekeys. Exe key to replace replace with key how often key to replace is the character or keyname of the key you wish to replace replace with key is the character or keyname of the key you want to replace it with how often is a number that specifies how many seconds you want to replace the keystroke. Use 0 for always.

The program is run from a command line and supports OS's up through Windows XP (I assume you could use compatibility mode to run under Vista). Full program details are here: http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/entertainment/replacekeys/ Hope that helps! .

Yep Yes, download "autohotkey" Put in a line into the script file it opens up, something like: RAlt::m that will map the right Alt key to "m" .

Try taking the keyboard apart. I know that electronics and water don't mix. With some electronics that I have gotten wet I noticed started working again after I took them apart and dried everything off.

Your keyboard may be staying wet around the "m" key (which I know can stay wet for days). Try popping the "m" key and the keys around it out and take a look at what you got. Just an idea.

Good Luck! Sources: Personal experience .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
