If a man gets abused by his girlfriend, should he call the cops and press charges?

Yeah... I call this the caveman clause. Those dudes who walk around the place wrecking things up, saying they were meant to be cavemen, treat women roughly, and that's how men are supposed to be. But when their car gets scratched or a bigger caveman pops him, he's the first to call the cops, go get x-rays and file lawsuits.

... lorddog, NO, you are not supposed to engage in fighting because someone picked on you or punched you. You are a typical Christian who believes what he wants. If a thief came to your home and took your television, you are supposed to offer him your DVD player, too.

The idea is that the thief might be a desperate person who needs to feed and clothe himself. Calling the cops is not giving him the DVD player so that he can feed and clothe himself. Your anticipated reply might be, "Then instead I would offer to feed and clothe him if he needs it."

Ok, but what if he declines because he is proud? Then give him the DVD player. That's turning the other cheek.

Sparing the rod on your children (your property) is not the opposite of turning the other cheek for a stranger. Yes, Butch. If someone breaks into your house you are to offer him more than what he is taking.

By the way, Butch. Yes, a criminal chooses his consequences. But your rule book is telling you that YOU do not get to decide what those consequences are even by initiating a legal process.

Those consequences are between the criminal and your/their god. That is another OBVIOUS point of "Turn the other cheek".

I am baffled by cop calling Christians who call on the evil Roman empire to solve problems. The Bible tells us how to handle problems in a social setting and calling a cop with a gun and 6 months education to be a mediator in disputes never produces a good result. If you have a real problem that you can not solve call the Sampson in your Church not a person who has been named a pig due to the dishonour of their profession.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
