If Al-Quaeda had access to nuke, what are the chances that they would annihilate the world?

Probably high. Al Qaeda is into world domination, I wouldn't put it past them to use the nuke to get what they want.

There is about as much a chance of Al-Quaeda getting nuclear weapons from any, that is ANY country that has them, as there is of Pat Robertson and Sarah Palin and the gang getting a hold of U.S. Nuclear weapons.

In Pakistan, for example, (if Pakistan is one Muslim country you're thinking of), there's no chance. According to an expert on Pakistan and south Asian politics, scholar and activist, Tariq Ali (you can Google him), there's no chance.

Tariq Ali points out that the Pakistan army is a half a million strong. The nuclear facilities in Pakistan, he says, are the most heavily guarded installation in the country, and the fear that Islamic extremists might get their hands on them is just not a credible concern. It makes sense.

I'm sure the nuclear facilities here in the U.S. Are the most heavily guarded facility; I can't imagine the same not being true for India, China, Russia, England, Israel (are they admitting they have them yet or no? ).

And of course, even if one could (as inconceivable as this is) procure one -- its not ready to fire; this has to do with a complex of firing 'codes' and so forth; I don't know the details but there are many, many, many details.

And consider this. Don't forget George W. Bush wrecked an entire country, Afghanistan.

Why? Because the Taliban wouldn't hand over one man: Osama bin Laden. I think Al Quaeda realizes that if they (and I understand they're only at two or three thousand strong) ever got one and the United States ever found out and thought they might be thinking about considering using it, whole countries in the developing world would be made to pay the price.

They probably would not want to annihilate the world, unless they intend to commit suicide.

First they could like to use it against Jews, Christians, Buddhists and any other Non-Muslims on this planet.

If they accomplish this then they will use this against the Shiite Muslims. Then with poor spiritual values they will destroy themselves through infighting.

I think it would stop far short of annihilating the world. Those in hight places within Al-Quaeda are not so ready to die as some they may convince to become suicide bombers. Yes, this is supposedly a war driven by religious fananticism but it is also about power.

If you destroy everything, there is nothing to have power over. I think Al-Quaeda is far more interested in the use of tactical weapons that will do great harm, induce fear, and create chaos. The idea of throwing one switch and destroying everyone in the world is likely not too practical.

Your talking about a group of fanatics that are more concerned with virgins then reality so i'd bet anything they would gladly set off nukes if they could.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
