If I take a three month break from HubPages, will my score drop significantly?

That's hard to say. Traffic, which seems to have the biggest direct effect on scores, can fluctuate depending on topic or season. The smaller a pool of Hubs you have, the more susceptible you are to changes, the more Hubs you've written the more your scores stabilize.

I was away from HubPages for two months once, and my score went down, but not significantly. Just a few points which came back after the first week upon my return :).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
