If the earth were facing an impending cataclysmic demise, would like to know about it in advance?

I don't think so. Knowing would interfere too much with the natural process of all the other factors which influence my decision-making, and the way I am living my life based on all my current history and experiences. We all realize in our hearts and minds that we won't be around forever as it is, and the discovery that the whole world was going at once would be an incredibly heavy burden.

Taken to the extreme, what if people found out a short time in advance and then made their time left on earth a frazzled, miserable mess just trying to fit in everything they thought they "should" do? Worse yet, what if many committed suicide out of fear, and their families had to go through that in their final days on earth? So... I guess what I am really saying is that I just want to do the best I can with the life I have from day to day, since I cannot control the rest, and perhaps I'll see you all on the other side!

I think I would want to know it a reasonable amount of time in advance. Knowing that the world would come to an end would allow me to make my peace with my own as well as my family members’ and friends’ untimely yet impending deaths. I could then say good bye to all my loved ones, share moments of love and joy with those most important to me, and reflect on my life’s journey thus far.

I think it would be much harder to accept that I along with everyone else would die without having a chance to fight back if I only found out a day or a few hours prior to it happening. If I knew a week or more in advance, I could then enjoy (or try to do so) the remainder of my life on Earth.

I would want to know why everyone was running! On a serious note, I would not want to know about this month ahead of everyone else, because I would be trying to save everyone and I have enough to keep me busy lol. To know the world was ending would be an awful burden if no one else knew.

“All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! The End Times hysteria promoted by a media seemingly enthralled with the notion that the world is going to end soon, authors who have written half a dozen books on the subject during the past couple of years, and internet sites which advise folks how to avoid the impending cataclysm, has generated a new pet theory. After two thousand years of false prophets, including soothsayers, con artists, religious nut cases, priests, bishops, kings, popes, politicians, astrologists and others who have told generations of human beings that the world end in their respective lifetimes, the latest fad in the End Times lunacy is the Mayans.

This ancient culture that died out centuries ago, is said to have predicted that the world will end in December of 2012.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
