I just answered a similar question yesterday. Anyway there was a good article in the Vegetarian Times about this. According to the author, no one now-a-days can be 100% vegan.
There are insects and rodents killed in the harvesting of crops, the transportation of crops, the storing of crops, and at the market. If you drive your car or turn on the lights you are making green house gases and somewhere a polar bear drowns. However, the eating of meat does not mean less animals die in crop production - but more (cows eat more crops than humans in the US, and the transportation and storage of food doubles.) Not to mention that vegans aren't responsible for any of the livestock getting killed.
So basically a vegan can't be "truly vegan". But he can still try to be as vegan as possible.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
