If you've switched from cable or satellite TV to antenna-received TV, what has been your experience in reception?

I'm specifically interested in Houston, TX, but any urban area experience would be helpful. I'm tired of paying $80/mo for service I don't use very much, but want to keep my high-def TVs ready to use when I'm interested. Reception Of course it depends on your location (distance from transmitting station) and the equipment you are using. You can install a high gain directional antenna that is aimable (that you can rotate) so that you can point it directly at the transmitting station. That is a huge help.

You can also add a pre-amplifier that will amplify the signal at the antenna... another huge help. If you are interested in getting the digital signals then your reception will be perfect and I would recommend you concentrate on going digital. Many stations are being transmitted simultaneously in digital and I think 2008 is the deadline were they all must go digital and they will be dropping their analog signals altogehter.

The cable is built into the antenna I was told to buy RG6.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
