I'm a registered nurse whose contemplating getting my own malpractice insurance. I'm looking for opinions. Should i?
Some say getting the insurance opens you up more to a lawsuit. Others say get it. And of course the hospital I work for says it's not necessary, that i'm covered under theirs.
I'm definately leaning towards getting it... my next question... know of any good companies to get it from? I always had my own malpractice insurance when I was working in the hospital. No matter what the hospital may say, if it comes to it, they will sacrifice you in a heartbeat if it keeps them from being sued, or from owing so much money. You have to take care of yourself!
Your best interest may very well not be the hospital's best interests, and they are naturally going to protect themselves first. I had to carry malpractice insurance as a nursing student (my university required it), and I went with NSO. I was insured by them for over twenty years, and was quite satisfied with them.
Of course, I did not get sued, so I can't speak to how good their representation would be in that situation, but they did have very good customer service. Kat (RN) com.
Thank you so much! I didn't bat an eyelash 7 years ago when I became a nurse at the hospital. But now seeing more into the politics of that place, they would totally throw me under the bus to save themselves!
AND that is the company I was really looking into. Glad to hear they are reputable, as their rates are pretty reasonable. Melissa220 11 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
