I'm going this afternoon for a consultation with a divorce lawyer. Any suggestions or things I should ask / look for?

There are several things you want to know. Cost should only be one of the concerns. Ask the attorney how he/she would handle the case and why.

Let them know what it is that you are expecting and whether or not they can reasonable achieve this goal. Do your homework as well, ask others if they have heard of them or utilized their services. Divorce can get quite messy, you need adequate representation.

If you don't feel comfortable disclosing personal matters to this attorney, this may not be your best option. Don't make an immediate decision, go home and think about it. If the attorney seems vague or acts as though they don't have a lot of time for you, take that into consideration.

However, a good lawyers record will speak for them. Good luck, hopefully it is smooth sailing.

You, as a client, may have some special requirements when you hire a lawyer. For example, you may need a lawyer who is bilingual or one who offers evening appointments. If possible, ask about these items when you call to make an appointment.

This will keep you from wasting your time and the attorney’s time. In some instances—for example, if you need to make special payment arrangements—the person who takes your call may be unable to give you a definitive answer. At the end of your initial consultation, you should have enough information to decide whether the lawyer is the right person to handle your legal matter, and whether you’d feel comfortable working closely with the lawyer until your matter is resolved.

Before wrapping up your meeting, ask the lawyer if there were any questions you should have asked, but didn’t. Did this article help you? If so, please consider sharing it with your friends and encourage them to become a fan of Lawyers.com on Facebook.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
