I'm trying to find a movie title. I saw it several years ago on cable tv?

I'm trying to find a movie title. I saw it several years ago on cable tv. The time of the movie is about 1920's - 1930's.

I think they're in Appalachia. There's a family that can't die. Up in the hills where they live, there's something special about the water, but if other people drink it I think they get sick.

A young man in the family falls for a normal girl. However, there's a group of men (like bounty hunters) tracking the family with eternal life. The young man and his family have to leave quickly to escape the bounty hunters.

The young man promises to return to the young girl, but when he finally returns she's dead and he meets her granddaughter. Can anyone tell me the name of this movie? Asked by brightmeadow 37 months ago Similar questions: find movie title years ago cable tv Entertainment > Movies.

Amazon.com Review Imagine coming upon a fountain of youth in a forest. To live forever--isn't that everyone's ideal? For the Tuck family, eternal life is a reality, but their reaction to their fate is surprising.

Award winner Natalie Babbitt (Knee-Knock Rise, The Search for Delicious) outdoes herself in this sensitive, moving adventure in which 10-year-old Winnie Foster is kidnapped, finds herself helping a murderer out of jail, and is eventually offered the ultimate gift--but doesn't know whether to accept it. Babbitt asks profound questions about the meaning of life and death, and leaves the reader with a greater appreciation for the perfect cycle of nature. Intense and powerful, exciting and poignant, Tuck Everlasting will last forever--in the reader's imagination.

An ALA Notable Book. (Ages 9 to 12) --Emilie Coulter --This text refers to the Hardcover edition. Review "Rarely does one find a book with such prose.

Flawless in both style and structure, it is rich in imagery and punctuated with light fillips of humor. The author manipulates her plot deftly, dealing with six main characters brought together because of a spring whose waters can bestow everlasting life.. . Underlying the drama is the dilemma of the age-old desire for perpetual youth.

Underlying the drama is the dilemma of the age-old desire for perpetual youth. " --The Horn Book -- Review At a time when death has become an acceptable, even voguish subject in children's fiction, Natalie Babbitt comes through with a stylistic gem about living forever. Protected Winnie, the ten-year-old heroine, is not immortal, but when she comes upon young Jesse Tuck drinking from a secret spring in her parents' woods, she finds herself involved with a family who, having innocently drunk the same water some 87 years earlier, haven't aged a moment since.

Though the mood is delicate, there is no lack of action, with the Tucks (previously suspected of witchcraft) now pursued for kidnapping Winnie; Mae Tuck, the middle aged mother, striking and killing a stranger who is onto their secret and would sell the water; and Winnie taking Mae's place in prison so that the Tucks can get away before she is hanged from the neck until.. .? Though Babbitt makes the family a sad one, most of their reasons for discontent are circumstantial and there isn't a great deal of wisdom to be gleaned from their fate or Winnie's decision not to share it. However the compelling fitness of theme and event and the apt but unexpected imagery (the opening sentences compare the first week in August when this takes place to "the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning") help to justify the extravagant early assertion that had the secret about to be revealed been known at the time of the action, the very earth "would have trembled on its axis like a beetle on a pin. " (Kirkus Reviews) First published in the United States in 1975, this book has come to be regarded as a modern childrens classic.

The simple story, aimed at children of about nine to 13, is set in the late 19th century. Its about a 10-year-old girl, Winnie, whose life is changed when she meets a family called the Tucks - mother, father and two young adult sons. The Tucks tell her a secret that since drinking, many years ago, from a spring in the woods at the back of Winnies house, they have never grown any older.

Anyone who drinks from the spring will live for ever. The Tucks have one aim, which is to prevent anyone else from drinking from the spring. They have realized that the possession of eternal life is a curse, not a blessing.

The book poses two interesting moral questions: if you had the chance of eternal life, would you take it? And if someone was about to pass the secret on to the rest of the world, how far could you justifiably go to stop them? The simplicity of the story enables readers to think about the questions raised and make up their own minds.

Winnie herself has to make the choice whether to drink from the spring or not and we don't know until the very last page which choice she makes.(Kirkus UK) http://www.amazon.com/Tuck-Everlasting-Sunburst-Natalie-Babbitt/dp/0374480095 .

I need some help myself, I have tried searching what I knew on google but nothing came up. I watched this movie well over 10 years ago but all I remember is it was kinda set up like a play, maybe it was a story and it had I guess, old time super heroes. I can remember 3 guys.1 dude was really strong another could run really fast, faster than a bullet and that is actually a scene from the movie, he runs beside it and grabs it.

I think it burned his hand. The last guy could make a wind storm when he blew air from his mouth. There were others but I don't remember them.

There was a little girl involved like maybe they were protecting her, I don't remember and then I think at the end there was a dark figure like Death. Thats all I remember, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
