Is 64 bit windows better for gaming?

Windows 7 all the way. Windows 7 can run any game that XP can (assuming its not a 16bit game, if you are trying to run any 16bit applications, there is something wrong with you lol). Windows 7 has better drivers, and is really better all the way around.

It uses a little more memory because all the effects, but you can turn off all visual effects, and then it would be fine. If you have problems with running programs with win7, use compatibility mode and choose vista, or xp and it should work. 32 vs 64bit.

Well definitely 64 for a lot of reasons. As long as you have atleast 3gb of ram you will be fine. Maybe 2.5gb, but I would say 3gb to be in the clear.

And the people saying "32bit can only use 4gb of ram" are technically wrong. Yes without PAE enabled 32bit OS can not utilize more then 4gb... of TOTAL system memory, NOT just ram. This also includes video card memory, and system caches.

If you are running a 1gb graphics card on 32bit, your fked lol, that leaves like 2.8-2.9 of usable ram. And there is much more then just ram usage to 64bit that makes it better. It allows for 64bit processing, and more and more programmers are making 64bit binaries.

So 64bit is the future. Also any 32bit applications will run on 64bit (usually the ones that won't are ones that have a 64bit version also and it will tall you to get the 64bit version). You can NOT use 32bit drivers or 32bit plugins!

Some (new) games won't run on windows XP. Some games require a lot of ram and you can not access more than 4GB ram on 32 bit. So windows 7 x64.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
