Fiber absorbs bad cholesterol (the cause of heart disease & other diseases) and toxins from the digestive tract and moves them out of the body.
Fiber helps your digestive track run smoothly, so it stands to reason that issues involving the intestines, colon, ect. Would be minimized by keeping your digestive track as "blockage free" as possible. As for flat out healing - Fiber is a great way to prevent & counter constipation.
