Is anyone else having a hard time "signing up" for Askville? My husband is trying to make his own account?

My husband is trying to make his own account, ... and it's just not working. We type in his cel phone number, and carrier...wait, and wait and wait for a text message, and it never comes! We have done this a ridiculous number of times over the past 4 days or so...still hoping that one time, it might just work!

Any advice? Asked by RebeccaLove 53 months ago Similar questions: hard time signing Askville husband make account Amazon > Askville.

The most likely causes I'm sure that I've answered this same question for at least ten other people. The problem has always been one of the following, listed from mst likely to least likely. 1.

The cell phone hasn't been set up to receive SMS. You have to call the cell phone company and request this, it's not automatic. All skville confirmations come via SMS.2.

A conflict in IP addesses. The reason you can access Askville every ime you click it from your favorites, without having to logon every time, is because Askville has built IP address recognition into it's software. If thast's the case, using a different computer in a duifferent location may solve this.3.

If he has an Amazon.com account, he should be using the information, particularly the same e mail address associated with that account. He should NOT be trying to use the same e mail address as you're using. Askville will see that as an attempt to create a duplicate account!

4. If he does have an Amazon.com account, he should try logging into that account, then using the invte link on the Amazon.com page. One of these things WILL work!

.

You can probably get an account through Amazon. When I first logged into Askville I just used my Amazon.com log-in. I never created an account on Askville. So if he has a problem creating an account on Askville, maybe he could do it through Amazon.com.

Good Luck .

2 I have had an Amazon account for a long time...I don't think I even had a cel phone when signing up for Amazon.

3 I'm sure my answer contains every conceivable possibility. Let me know how it turns out. This user has been banned from Askville.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
