People who say those things don't know anything about depression. It basically puts the mind in a state of total despair. That person no longer has control over their own thoughts and they can talk themselves into believing that suicide is the logical choice for them.
That their loved ones would be better off without them. Their mind is basically playing tricks on them. Depression is a disease of the brain and it's possible to get help and feel better.
But it's hard to convince them when they're so far down. http://www.soulsastray.com.
People often say this, not usually because of what the person does to himself, but because of the effects it has on the people who know him and are close to him, like family and friends. They argue against suicide not because it's bad in and of itself, or because of any other reason. They argue against it solely on the effects that it will have on the people involved in that individual's life.
The problem with that sort of argument is that it doesn't apply to those who simply have no close family or friends. On top of that it's a bit hypocritical to say that if the person committed suicide that it would be selfish and that he/she shouldn't because it will make other people feel bad, yet that itself seems to me just as selfish.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
