Is drinking diet soda really ok for your health?

1 "OK" is a relative term. As with everything else, moderation is helpful. The vast quantities of sugar in regular soda is definitely very bad, and should be limited.

The chemical substitutes for sugar in diet sodas seem to be generally safe, despite paranoid web sites to the contrary, as they've been pretty well tested. But I still wouldn't drink a lot of it. There are indications that your body doesn't particularly deal well with the fake sugar rush you get off of it.So I'd say a diet soda per day is probably going to do you no harm.

Guzzling it all day is probably not good. So learn to drink water.

Never heard of it. Please explicate. I drink (caffeine-free) diet soda like water, and I have never experienced any kind of rush.

@OP: Besides having the advantage of not being stuffed fully of sugar, diet soda also typically is much less acidic than sugared sodas, so it is better for your teeth. The only downside I know of is that diet sodas sometimes have more caffeine than sugared sodas, to make up for the lack of sugar rush.So you should pay attention to that. You can look online for how much caffeine is in a diet soda.

It varies by brand (why isn't caffeine content on food labels?) .

Never heard of it. Please explicate. Sorry, I should have gone into more detail.

When you taste sweet things, your body gives off insulin to help manage what it expects to be an inrush of glucose. It's not a "rush" in the sense of a sugar high. The insulin rush isn't good for you.

It's not exactly clear how much damage is done by it, but it may lead to diabetes if you have other risk factors. Documentation:ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2887500 .

4 From what I've learned, aspartame and other artificial sweetners are carcinogenic. IMO if you're going to drink soda (probably has phosphoric acid anyway which is bad for bones) I'd say drink the sugar and not get cancer from aspartame. Soda--don't do it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
