Good question! Bella, evolution is a fact. Science has gone to great lengths to prove evolution against all other explanations.

Science tests an hypothesis. It is proven or the research is significant or it is not. The human body is complete with evidence of evolution.

Our brain is built upon over millions of years. We still have our primitive brain. We also have evidence of our sea going past with an aquatic bone in part of our ear.

Men have nipples. Fingernails are past claws. Hair is from our primate past.

I could go on forever! The best thing is to read science books and make up your own mind. Education/knowledge is power.

Evolution is taught in all our universities and accepted as fact. Christianity is a religion. It is based on the bible which was written by men.It has been significantly changed, plagerized, précised, rewritten, translated over many years.

It was written by some 45 men over some 700 years. It is about the culture, politics, laws, society, religious beliefs of those times some 2000 years ago.It was corrupted by the early Popes who changed much of it to gain power and control over the masses. THere are also so many differing beliefs, ideas by various Christian sects, churches, individuals and then there is fundamentalism.

What would you have them teach? Bella, you need to get an education, study the history of the bible and Christianity. I would not object to religious studies as a course about the differing religious beliefs as a sort of history.

That may be beneficial. Also many people are not Christians, so why teach it to their kids? You can get Christianity from a Christian school.

Evolution & religion Let us think the meaning of both terms. "Evolution" means - a process in which something passes by degrees to a different stage (especially a more advanced or mature stage). Wherever the "religion" stands for - an institution to express belief in a divine power.

I myself born and brought up in India where there are thousands of people with several religions live here. There is obviously unity in diversity in here. First we are human, then Indian and after that our religion.

Similarly when the human came to this earth first, they were not like us today. They have been chaged decades after decade and come to this stage. This is what we call evolution.

Once they taught to lit a fire, use stone & iron and like this once they created religion. So we should think the main thing that first we are human, then our religion. In the school there may be different students from different religions.

But they all are students and read in the same school with same syllabus and targetting the same goal of life. So they do not taught Christianity instead of evolution.

Hoo boy, is this gonna be a fun one. Perceptions of the matter and how they are presented: Those who believe in evolution present it as SCIENCE and just about the definition of that subject. Those who believe God created everything see in "evolution" many faults and frauds (the whole "speckled moth" fiasco, for example) that are swept under a rug and ignored (and I've even found current textbooks using the speckled moth--still!) Thus, the ones who credit evolution see the ones who believe in creation as obstreperous and ignorant.

The ones who credit creation see the ones who believe in evolution as deceptive and blind. I say the good part of that is the difficulty of someone figuring out a way to believe in both (tho very surprisingly, some still manage to do that.) Thus, to your question: Christianity was not so much taught in schools as the implications of Christianity was taught: creation of the world on October 23, 4004 b.c. , (at 9:00 a.m.

) That was seen as childish and igorant, and the promotoers of evolution did a very good job, starting with Charles Lyell, eventually replacing teaching of life by a God's fiat creation with teaching of life by evolution from simpler to more comlex forms. Some very good PR on the evolution promoters and some very cocky attitudes on the part of creation promoters helped, but in the end, "creation" was seen as the same as Christianity: a religion. And as a religion, it cannot be taught in a Constitutionally mandated secular society.

That government money is spent on public education means that public education cannot promote a religion--any religion--so creation is out. Whether "evolution" is a religion or not is immaterial: it is presented as science, so it is in. If you want your child learning that God created everything, select a private school, or as I did, "If you want a job done right, do it yourself.

" As one who works in education, I wouldn't anyone I love in a public school, anyway. Sources: 3 decades working in education .

Because the constitution of the u.s. Dictates that there is a separation of church and state. Since evolution is not a religion, but a science, it is taught in schools.

If christianity is taught in the public schools, so should judiasm, islam and other religions be taught as well. Of course, each group should have members of their own religion teach their religion. And since there are different groups of the same religion, then all should have a say.

For instance, there are the reform, conservative and orthodox jews. Christianity and other religions should be taught as a responsibility of each church. Therefore, you get it right and will not be against the constitution..
