Is it better to have a root canal or to have tooth pulled out?

By "better," I'm assuming you mean less painful. From what I've heard, and from experience, having a tooth pulled is less painful than a root canal. When teeth are pulled, the dentist numbs your mouth with a shot, which I barely felt and I absolutely hate needles, and from that point on you don't feel anything. In some cases, such as wisdom teeth that have not fully grown out of the gums, they'll even put you under local anasthesia, so you are asleep during the procedure.

My mother has had a root canal before, a long time ago, and she said it was terribly painful. However, It's not as bad nowadays. Similar to pulling teeth, your mouth is numb, so you really don't feel much.

A root canal is more of a long drawn out process though, because the tooth must be filed down, the nerve must be cut out of the tooth, a cap has to be put over the area, and there are several follow up apointments for it. I think the pain you experience after the surgery larger depends on how well the dentist did his or her job. You mouth will likely be sore a little longer after a root canal than after an average tooth pulling, but if you're getting wisdom teeth pulled, it could take weeks for the holes to close back up where the teeth were pulled.

I guess if I had to choose one of these procedures, I'd choose the tooth pulling, just to have the one step procedure and be done with it.

Pull it out - root canals are very bad for your health!

I believe root canal because at least you get to keep your tooth! =O.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
