On the days you don't wash your hair just do a rinse in the shower, and let it air dry then spry on the dry shampoo. It doesn't feel as good as when you take a shower, it's kinda in the middle, but you don't have to worry about odder either, because it is scented to smell just like the shampoo that brand makes. All that is true, but I promise if you play a sport and get real sweaty, wash your hair.
You do not want to get a fungus on your scalp. Also, when washing your hair, do not repeat as desired like the bottle says. Perhaps you shouldn't use the word unhealthy.
More important than vanity is the effects of what you put on your skin, especially while taking a long hot shower in which the pores of your skin are very open.
