Is it safe to drink several cups at a time of hot tea or soup during the first trimester of pregnancy?

I'm only 6 weeks pregnant, and have a very bad cold. I've been drinking cup after cup of hot tea and soup, but am starting to worry if the extra heat is bad for the developing fetus. Any sound advice would be appreciated, thanks!

At 6 weeks pregnant your uterus is just above the hairline... and the baby is a lima bean. Unless you are running a fever over 101 the soup that goes into your stomach will have little temperature effect on your baby. Caffeine on the otherhand is suggested to be consumed in moderation.It is a diuretic and will ecourage fluid loss and dehydration.

You should drink plenty of fluids, the soup is fine. Perhaps try jello,popsicles,Gatorade,but limit caffeine to 300mg/day which is about 2-3 cups. Sources: personal knowledge,my job .

Hot or cold liquid is still a liquid, no worries mommy your baby is thirsty too! It’s true that taking an overly hot bath is dangerous for a pregnant woman. But not drinking hot liquid such as tea or hot soup.

I love tea and hot cocoa and let my OB/GYN know this and they reassured me it's safe. That and the health benefits are great for you and your baby (with tea). You have to stay healthy because of a rough road ahead so kick back and drink down as much tea as you’d like.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
