The sire should not be permitted near any of your backyard breeder puppies. The mother and the entire litter should be in a secluded secured area for at least several weeks, especially if the dogs are small dogs. As the pups age, anytime the sire is near them, he needs to be supervised and able to be recalled if he gets overly aggressive with them.
