Is it true that cats need to eat grass? If so, how does an indoor cat get grass?

She has only been indoors for 2 weeks. We got her from a campground where people drop off cats like crazy. She was a kitten when she was dropped off there.

Cats love greens and need fiber! Cats love to eat grass and some leaves off of plants (make sure you don’t have any that are toxic to cats in your home). If your cat is still a kitten, please feed her a good Kitten Chow.It has the extras they need for growth and nourishment.

When she is about a year old, you can slowly switch her to an adult formula (start by mixing the kitten chow with the adult formula until her tummy gets used to the new food). Purina makes a formula especially for indoor cats "Purina Cat Chow Indoor Formula". It has the extra fiber they need and the greens that they love to eat.

My cats love it, and they never, ever vomit up that yucky green goo that comes from eating grass. And because indoor cats tend to groom more often than outdoor cats, the fiber helps their digestion (and they won’t be tossing up those nasty hairballs). I’m glad you found yourself a new little darlin’.

Short answer: No. Cat's don't HAVE to eat grass, some may enjoy it, I know 2 of mine do, but it's not essential to their health at all. However, if a cat is eating great quantities of grass and throwing up then a vet visit is warranted because something is wrong. It could be a food allergy, a stubborn hairball or a GI issue.

If you want her to have grass you can buy whole oats (the same stuff they feed horses and birds) and plant them in a little planter a bit at a time. This way your kitty can chow away if she feels like it.It's also sold in smaller quantities for a lot more money as 'cat grass'.

Cats do not need to eat grass, but most cats enjoy it. I grow cat grass and catnip for my cats. Here in Florida, I can grow it year 'round on my lanai (screened patio).

You can probably grow it year 'round in colder climates if you have a sunny window for it. You can buy the cat grass in "ready-to-grow" kits-you just add water; or you can buy packets of cat grass seed and grow them in a pot of soil. In my area, cat grass seed is available at Petsmart and Target.

Catnip plants can often be found at any store that sells herbs (as well as at Petsmart). I have bought catnip plants in the produce section of my local grocery store, and at the Walmart and Home Depot garden centers. My cats love to nibble the leaves, and they do not cause irritation that causes vomiting, as grass sometimes does..

If you have potted plants ... ... say goodbye to them. Kitty will eat them like crazy (careful - some may be poisonous). Otherwise I'd consult your local pet shop for a substitute..

You buy it You can buy at the pet store little containers of grass for cats to eat, and/or little pots of dirt with seed packets to grow your own grass and catnip. As far as why they eat it, I've always believed it's to make themselves throw up for whatever reason. I glanced at a few articles by vets online and really, no one seems to know.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
