Is it wrong to buy a dog from a breeder?

The only thing I want to make clear is, unless you went to the BYB's with an animal rescue agency, you bought your doxie, and in doing so, encouraged them to breed more. EVERYONE has the right to a well bred purebred dog of their choice, with no explanation due to anyone. You have no responsibility to rescue in order to clean up a mess you had nothing to do with creating.

I'm all for adopting a dog when breed/breeding are not concerns, but no one has the right to make you feel guilty if that is not your choice ETA: Gotcha. I had a feeling something wasn't right with that since you do know there's a difference between breeders. Most people don't.

No It is Not Wrong! While making sure that who you are buying from is reputable and honest and takes care of their responsibilities as a breeder and dog owner, why punish a dog just by where it comes from whether it be a shelter or a breeder. That decision is up to and important because that is a life long committment to your new companion.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
