Right because Canada is doing SO well right now. Canada is going to be doing great 30 years from now when Middle Easterners and Asians are maintaining successful businesses to pay the taxes for the rest of Canada to live on welfare. Canada is basically Europe and future US right now.

Arabs and Asians immigrating in droves, starting solid businesses while the rest of the country sits around smoking pot and drooling in front of a TV.

While most of Canada is more liberal than the United States the banking sector there is nuch more conservative. They did not get involved in the sub prime mortgage schemes that eliminated pretty much all requirements needed to get a loan. Without all the free money your housing market did not experience that much of a bubble where prices skyrocketed only to collapse.

The other factors that have helped the economy in Canada have been conservative governments who managed to balance the budget by both cutting spending and raising taxes. The principals that have helped Canada are Conservative principals. Canada is doing well in spite of it's socialism, not because of it.
