Yes you will be able to install a windows 7 64bit operating system the CPU is 64 bit compatible but you won't be able to use the drivers you currently have for your hardware you will have to download all the win7 64bit drivers for your hardware from http://support.dell.com/support/download... recommend you download all drivers for hardware first and store them on usb stick or burn to CD/DVD before you upgrade your operating system as you may not be able to get internet connectivity until you load the required drivers.
