Is the engine coolant resevoir equivalant to the water tank in some cars?

There is NO water tank in ANY car. Coolant/antifreeze is what is used to cool the engine. What you are CALLING the water tank is the coolant reservoir and/or the radiator.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
